Clubhouse Appeal

Woodnesborough Football Club is appealing for funds to help extend its clubhouse.

The club, based at Foxborough Hill, has been established for 50 years and aims to have a space for community events and somewhere for young people. It is currently progressing with a new artificial training pitch and hopes to build a conservatory for visitors. To do this, it still needs another £15,000.

Fundraiser John Andrews said: “Building work has begun. We had a long-term project to take the club forward moving away from it being exclusively a football club towards working with the community

and it became a charity about four years ago.”

The charity is called Woodnesborough

Community Project. It has also launched a

Buy a Brick appeal which will give supporters

and commercial sponsors a chance to have their names as a permanent fixture on the clubhouse wall.

Trustee Calvin Wood said: “Every contributor will have their name or company name added to a framed list and hung permanently in the club.”

Since the youth club in Woodnesborough closed eight years ago, the football club has been aiming to provide youth facilities for the community
